Tandoori Gobi

Tandoori Gobi is a vegetarian dish from the Indian subcontinent that consists of cauliflower marinated in a spiced yogurt mixture and cooked in a tandoor or oven. It is a popular appetizer or side dish in Indian restaurants and can also be made at home.

To make Tandoori Gobi, a marinade is prepared with yogurt, ginger-garlic paste, chili powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, turmeric, garam masala, and salt. The cauliflower is then coated with the marinade and allowed to marinate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 24 hours for a more intense flavor.

The marinated cauliflower is then skewered and cooked in a tandoor oven or grilled in a regular oven until it is tender and slightly charred on the outside. It is usually served hot, garnished with fresh cilantro and lemon wedges.

Tandoori Gobi is a healthy and delicious dish that is rich in nutrients. Cauliflower is a good source of vitamins C and K, dietary fiber, and antioxidants. The use of yogurt in the marinade adds a creamy texture and a tangy flavor, and also provides calcium and protein.

The spiced marinade used in Tandoori Gobi gives it a unique flavor that is both spicy and savory. The use of traditional Indian spices such as cumin, coriander, and garam masala provides depth and complexity to the dish. The slight char from the cooking process adds a smoky flavor that enhances the overall taste.

Tandoori Gobi can be served as an appetizer or side dish with other Indian dishes such as naan, biryani, or dal. It can also be enjoyed as a vegetarian main course with rice and other vegetables. It is a versatile dish that can be customized to your taste by adjusting the level of spice and the cooking time.

Overall, Tandoori Gobi is a delicious and healthy vegetarian dish that is easy to make and perfect for any occasion. It is a great way to incorporate more vegetables and traditional Indian flavors into your diet. So, next time you’re looking for a flavorful and healthy dish, give Tandoori Gobi a try!
